What is Cross the Line?

It is a hard-hitting web app which uses social media to put the user directly in the centre of the action, through the use of information from the individual’s personal profile, alongside video and social media messages.

Cross The Line Introduction

How Does it Work?

Cross the Line uses smartphone technology to help deter individuals away from radicalisation, hate crime and right-wing extremism.

The app takes the user on a journey which sees their persona getting drawn into a far right-wing group, before quickly escalating into violent hate crime. The user has a number of choices to make within the app which influences the steps they take and decides whether they eventually ‘Cross the Line’.

Changing behaviours through open conversation is the key to removing the barriers that stand in the way of a unified approach.

Short Trailer Video

Acts of violent extremism and hate crimes are committed by a small minority of people and are not representative of the public. However, people who may be vulnerable to radicalisation for a variety of reasons may be easily influenced by radical behaviour or extremist ideology.
